Please note:  Most problems you may encounter with the course can be resolved by updating to Internet Explorer 6.  Follow the provided link above to go to the download page for IE6 provided by Microsoft.  If you are using an ISP such as AOL or Wal-Mart Connect, then you will need to minimize the interface for that ISP once you are connected to the internet and open Internet Explorer 6 to complete the course.

If you are able to login, and you see a welcome message but no course...
This problem is caused by pop-up blocking software on your computer that is preventing the course from displaying. You may temporarily turn off this software to enter the course.

If the course crashes after you answer the first question on the final test...
This problem is resolved by updating your browser to Internet Explorer 6.

If you cannot see the submit button on a quiz...
Try adjusting your text size for your browser to a lower setting. You can do this in Internet Explorer 6 by going to the View menu option, then choosing Text Size, then selecting Smallest.

If you have completed the course, but you cannot enter the final test...
Make certain you have a check mark by each section and subsection of the course indicating you have completed the section. You can also use the View Report link on the menu bar at the left of your screen to see if you submitted an answer for each quiz question. You must visit each page of the course and submit an answer for each quiz before the test link will become active.

If you have completed the course and need to know what to do next...
You should contact your local Hunter Education office for more information. You can find their contact information here.

If you are getting a "You have been idle too long" message when you login...
First, please make sure you deactivate any programs on your computer that might prevent cookies from being set. These programs may also stop pop-up windows and/or various other types of advertisements.
Open Internet Explorer 6, select the Tools menu, and choose Internet Options. On the General tab, click the Delete Cookies button. Next, select the Security tab from the top, highlight the Internet icon, and click the Default Level button that appears in the bottom section of the window. Select the Privacy tab from the top. Click the default button. Click OK and attempt to login to the Hunter Education site now.
If you are still receiving the "Idle" error, Open Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu, and choose Internet Options. Select the Privacy tab. In the bottom portion of the window, you will see an Edit button; click it. In the "Address of Web site" field, type "http://www.beasafehunter.org/" (do not type the quotes). Now click the Allow button. Attempt to login to the Hunter Education site now.
If the above suggestions do not correct the problem, then you have a program on your computer that is blocking cookies from the Hunter Education website. McAfee users are most likely to encounter this problem, but other programs may also be the cause (Norton, for example). In particular, security software (such as anti-virus) often provides this feature. As there are many different programs that can do this, we are unable to provide specific instructions on how to bypass this feature for each program. In general, you should look through your security software for an option to either allow all cookies or to specifically allow the cookies from the Hunter Education site: "http://www.beasafehunter.org/". If you cannot find this feature, you may want to contact the company technical support for you particular software. Often, you can find instructions on the manufacturer's website.

If you are still unable to login to the course, you should contact your local Hunter Education office to obtain the CD version of this course.

If you need to update to the newer version of Windows Media Player, please visit Microsoft's Windows Update website.  To reach this, open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, then select Windows Update.  Follow the directions on the site to update your software.  Click the above links for Macromedia Flash Player or Java Runtime Environment (JRE) if you need to install these software packages.
